For immigrant families in Virginia
Resources
Everything here is to help you prevent and prepare for an immigration emergency: a raid, ICE at your home, detention, or the risk of deportation. Start with the toolkit, make a plan for your family, or find help near you.
Toolkit Navigation
Each guide stands on its own. Start with whichever one matches your situation right now.
Community Resources
Trusted organizations across the region, grouped by the kind of help they offer. Pick a category to narrow the list, then follow a link to get in touch directly.
Each row scrolls sideways. Pick a category above to see everything in it at once.

Voting
Registration, ballot information and civic participation.
Voting and Civic Participation
Find nonpartisan information about voter registration, elections, ballots, voting rights, and opportunities to participate in your community across Virginia.
Eligible U.S. citizens can access voting tools and assistance. Everyone, regardless of immigration status, can learn about public issues, connect with elected officials, and explore ways to make their voice heard.
Resources are free unless otherwise noted. Spanish-language and multilingual assistance are available through selected organizations.
The official election resources below cost nothing to read. Anyone can read the guides or ask for general information, but registering and voting are only for eligible U.S. citizens.
The civic participation resources at the end of the list are especially valuable for DMIA, because people do not need to be registered voters to read legislation, communicate community concerns, or attend public government meetings. Specific rules for speaking at hearings may apply.
